Gilipojazz is a power trio from Madrid that blends jazz-punk with funk, progressive rock, metal, and classical music. Their music is characterized by its virtuosity and humor, and their live shows and music videos are reminiscent of Les Luthiers and Tricicle.
The band's influences include Frank Zappa, System of a Down, Tower of Power, Screaming Headless Torsos, Magma, and Cardiacs. They have been praised by the music press and have won several band competitions, including the AIE prize at the Rock Villa de Madrid band competition.
On April 1, 2022, they released their first album, "¿Dónde está el jazz?", which was self-produced, recorded, and mixed. The album features 14 tracks that showcase their unique sound and have helped them to gain a growing following. In less than a year, they have performed over 40 concerts throughout Spain and abroad, including at the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
Gilipojazz is made up of Iker García, Ángel Cáceres, and Pablo Levin. They are three childhood friends who have been playing music together since their early teens. Their virtuosic and humorous style appeals to a wide range of audiences, and they are currently preparing their second album, which will be released in spring 2024.
